An Announcement for a show at the Audubon in the 1990s
Merrill “Pete” Coffin, a nationally known artist whose paintings are included in private and corporation collections in the Northeast, is acting as consultant with Dick Luce on a showing of nature art as a special event for the Fall Festival. Taking part will be regional artists from the Chautauqua County Society of Artists, and the Southern Tier Woodcarvers Guild. Plans are also in progress for a display of nature photography. Persons interested in showing their work should contact Dick Luce.
The Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 17 from 10-4pm at the Nature Center in Burgeson Wildlife Sanctuary.
The art show is one of several events planned for the festival. Audubon’s super-bakers will offer a delectable selection of pies, cakes, and cookies at the bake sale. Hot dogs and beverages will be sold for lunch There will be country music and story telling; guided nature walks and rides on the Audubon Express; as well as tips on feeding birds in winter. The drawing for the Amish bird quilt will be at 3pm.
